Carers Week 2021

In June it’s Carers Week, a national, annual campaign which raises awareness of caring and recognises the essential contribution carers make to our community.

It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

Carers in our city have faced many new challenges this past year, and so the theme this year is making carers visible and valued.

We have lots of free events happening during Carers Week, offering a range of support, advice and wellbeing.

Click on each event to find out more details, dates and times:

o   Voicefulness: a three week wellbeing course to support relaxation and your confidence in using your voice

o   Communicating with Professionals: facilitated session where you can explore those challenging situations you may have had with professionals, to ensure you feel confident communicating your needs

o   Menfulness: opportunity for male carers to meet the team at York Menfulness, for a relaxed Walk and Talk to find out more about what they do

o   Speed Quiz: come along to our fast-paced quiz night with Speed Quiz founder and Shed Seven drummer Alan Leach!

o   Legal and financial advice clinics: free telephone advice sessions with local professionals

Please get in touch to book, on: 01904 715 490 or enquiries@yorkcarerscentre.co.uk
