Services at St Barnabas

Our Sunday Services are a mix of worship in the church building and online. You can watch our services live on our YouTube channel here or catch up with our previous broadcasts below. Everyone is welcome to join us both online or in person as we gather together each Sunday and all of our services we have on a Sunday can be seen below

9:30AM – Morning Praise

A mix of traditional and contemporary worship

11:15AM – Praise Together

With music from our worship band. This is the service where our children’s groups run.

6:30PM – Evening Praise

more informal, band-led worship

In the middle of the week, we also gather for a simple service of communion, every Wednesday at 9.30AM

Children and Young People

Children and young people are welcome at all our services. At our 11.15 service children aged 3-14 are invited to head out to children’s groups during the service where they get to hear about Jesus and the bible in age appropriate ways. Younger children and babies are welcome to remain in the church, but if parents want a bit more space there is an unstaffed creche area at the back of church with toys and space to change and feed your baby. Our older teenagers meet after the evening service to hang out, read the bible and speak about issue facing them. For more details about the children and young people’s work see both on Sunday and in the week see our page on youth and children’s work.

Our worship on a Sunday ranges from more traditional to contemporary depending on the service:

Our 9:30AM service uses a mix of traditional and contemporary worship led by a robed choir, organ and on occasion a small worship group singing traditional hymns.

Our 11:15AM service uses music from our worship band and is the service where our children’s groups run.

Our 6:30PM service is a more informal atmosphere with band-led worship

St Barnabas welcomes many students and young adults both through our Sunday services and during the week. Meetings are held every Wednesday from 7.30pm at the Meeting House at 20 King Edward’s Square on the university campus and student lunches are held monthly on Sundays.

If you are new or resident to the area, we would love to meet you
